By Far my best form of advertisement, compliments from the bride...

Rebecca - all I can say is that the flowers got more compliments than my
dress!!! The centerpieces were so beautiful with the brilliant colors, and
dominated the aura in the ballroom! They just made you smile. Even the men
guests were commenting on the flowers to me!!

What a beautiful day at Robinson Gardens. Lily Pad Floral Design is honored to have been invited back to participate in the Robinson Garden Benefit Garden Tour.

This year we worked with Cuchi of Anna Clark Interiors on the Morning Room. This is my favorite room in the house, it's full of light & the floor to cealing windows look out on a spectacular palm garden. Cuchi did an amazing job! It was a pleasure working with her. I think we pulled it together nicely!

Well this was by far the best Plan B of all time. If you hadn't read my previous post, my good friends Ree & JP were notified 12 days before their wedding that they wouldn't be able to have their ceremony & reception at the South Coast Botanic Garden as they had been planning for close to a year. So....Plan B- Get married at Trump National Golf Club- (and have the sun make it's first appearance of the summer practically) Then toZazou Resraunt and PARTY! What a party it was! The Reception was a bast. They were dancing in the streets, Literally! We stopped traffic on Catalina Blvd. So they could have their first dance under the stars as they had originally planned. It was magical...
It was a wonderful day. I am so happy for them. After all they went through this turned out SPECTACULAR!

This was a wedding that was close to my heart as Ree is one of my closes friends, the best part was she totally trusted me with the flowers & pretty much let me do what I wanted in her color scheme. I LOVED her bouquet! it was totally her, her colors, her style 100%

The night before the wedding I asked Ree if she had a ring pillow. In all the chaos leading up to PlanB she had forgot about that detail. I had the material for the ceremony whipped this up for her. Think it turned out pretty cute for a last minute detail.

This past week I have witnessed one of my best friends weddings go Haywire!

Ree & JP were slated to have their ceremony & reception at The South Coast Botanic Garden this coming Labor Day Monday. A call came last Wednesday 12 days before their wedding that there was a mistake & the Annual Labor Day Concert was taking place at the same time as their wedding was suppose to be taking place. So they were going to have to make alternate plans- 12 DAYS BEFORE THEIR WEDDING!

Still can't figure out how such an oversight occurred as this concert was even published on their website!

With super human powers (& a little help from their friends) these 2 have re-planed their wedding and oh what a wedding it will be.

I am posting this mostly to give props to Trump National Golf Club who fortunately had their lawn available for Ree & Jp to have their Ceremony on their site. They have been so kind! and taking amazing care of my friends.

Also Zazou Restaurant in Rivera Village, Redondo Beach. JP works with this amazing group but they are more like family. Stephen is the best! They are being beyond accomidating I have never worked with more helpful people!

I can't wait to post the photos from Cheryl Ogden! also amazing for her flexibility with all the changes that have taken place in the past week.

It's going to be a great day. I think 10 times better than the original plan!

Wow! What a day! Friday May 142010 is a day I wont soon forget. The Friends of Virginia Robinson Gardens put on a great show. The house was decked out in the most amazing florals, it was awe inspiring! Some of the most creative whimsical floral designs I've seen. It was great to meet some of LA's most talented Floral Designers who's work I have been admiring for many years, Marc Byrd, of Eventful Floral Design, Eddie Zaratsian of Tic-Tock Couture Floral and Ricardo Luna of Luna Gardens to name a few.

We had the great pleasure of decorating the Kitchen Pantry It was is very small space, basically a walk through from the Dining area to the Kitchen, so I know we needed to make it pop & I think we accomplished our goal.......

We were situated next to the kitchen as I said, which was decorated by Anthropology with Holly Floral. What a great place to spend the day. The Girls for Anthro decorate as only the girls from Anthro can. Every time I walk in to that store I just want to move right in.

Holly Flora made this amazing cat out of succulents. I have never seen anything like it & I was obsessed with it! It was to bad Holly wasn't there to hear the raves about her designs, She had a wedding booked that day, every one LOVED what she created.

It was truly an amazing day. The Ladies all decked out in there garden finery, the fabulous food, the weather was perfect & the estate is a stunning place as it is. I was honored to be part of the day.

WOW! What an amazing day! (a very long day!) It was such a pleasure to be at this event. I met so many talented and cool people I just have to share.

We decorated the Kitchen Pantry with a melange of yellow cauliflower, artichokes, cymbidum & james story orchids with a touch of butterscotch treats among other delicatables.

We got a GREAT response! I was overwhelmed by the compliments on our designs.

Jen Johnson of Antropologie & Vintage Home Grown makes these wonderful macrame plant holders. She hung in the kitchen windows. They are so sweet and they remind me of my childhood.

We were right next to the kitchen which was decorated by Antropologie & Holy Flora. Antro always has the most amazing displays and the kitchen was no exception, it was really cool. The

Succulent covered cat by Holy Flora was by far my favorite thing at the house.

It was a day I wont soon forget and I want to thank the lovely ladies of The Friends of Robinson Gardens for including us in such a special event. Cheers to a job well done!

I have a lot of clients ask me, "what would you do if it was your house?" Well this is what I do at my house...... Here is my mantle.... Couldn't pass up these Beautiful Cymbidums. I love using a single stem and making it go a long way. So simple. So pretty. The cymbidum can be a pricy flower by the stem, but they last a long time and are very versatile.

My Chinese new year resolution...... to keep up with this blog!

Keep an eye out for post of the Jenny Craig Commercial we staged the flowers for this week. A great job and so cool to watch my brothers at work. It was nice to be on a set again, it's been awhile.

Our Tuesday night class was a huge success. Cant beat sushi, wine & floral design. Hoping to get in another class this spring. Any one interested in joining our next class or setting up a group of their own can call the shop to check availability. It's a great way to gather with your girlfriends for a fun filled & educational evening. Private parties are available upon request.

I have such exciting news I could hardly contain myself....... We were voted Best Florist in the Easy Reader Best of Beach AGAIN! Big thanks to all our wonderful clients for your vote of confidence. We love what we do & we love that you love what we do!

Valentines Day is right around the corner! We are recommending Tulips as an alternate to the standard Roses this year. A lovely display of red, white or the Fantastic Novelty Parrot. The prices are very reasonable as this is their high season.

Roses are always spectacular and a must for the "hopeless romantic" Lily Pad will have a beautiful variety on hand... The Freedom Rose. This beauty has a deep rich red full petal head. It's my new favorite Red Rose.

Well We pulled off another beautiful Holiday Homes Tour!

What a week! I'm pretty sure I had N1H1 since Friday and there were moments that I though there was no way this job could get done, but some how we pulled it off. Huge thanks to my Mom & Lorraine with whom this could not been possible!

It was great collaborating with Designers Karen Wittich, Lynn Sealy , Maureen- Tabula Rasa and Melissa the Sand Pipers home facilitator was a dream to work with.

They are a match made in heaven. I have known Matt since he was in High School. He use to come in and pick out flowers for his prom dates. (most boys sent their mom's) He is the sweetest, kind, witty, guy you could ever imagine. When I met Kristen for the first time, I know right away they were meant for each other. These two have the greatest spirit! I really don't need to say more, because the photos tell it all.

This was a small but fun job for me. I only took care of the Bridal party flowers, but they were pretty cool.

Kristina asked to have black feathers incorporated, this is what we came up with...

Bridesmaids had a single type of flower from the bridal bouquet with black feathers surrounding.

Kristinas' bouquet was super Sexy I loved that she went for the black satin stem wrap

So this wedding season is winding down, Keep your eyes on the blog for the best of 2009. I had a lot of amazing events this year and will post photos in the next few weeks.
